| ANNUAL FUNCTION OF GENDER RESOURCE CENTRE |

| An Annual Function to celebrate the successful completion of one year of the Jamia Nagar SSK/GRC was organized at the Centre on 23rd April, 2010. Present at the function were Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dixit, Shri Rakesh Mehta, Chief Secretary, Smt. Rashmi Singh, Mission Director, Shri Manoj Parida, Secretary Welfare, Ms Kerry Pelzman, Director of Health Office, USAID and others. This provided an excellent platform to raise awareness about CEQUIN’s work in the area, through the SSK/GRC. The event saw a massive and enthusiastic participation of the community. Girls from the Centre put up a cultural performance. Testimonials were shared by beneficiaries and staff. The dignitaries were gifted exquisitely crafted hand bags made by the girls at the centre. |

| Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who was the Chief Guest, commended the participants and said on the occasion, “The centre has helped in women coming of their homes and learning vocations which will help them in earning better living. Health has never been given adequate attention by the family especially of the women which is being addressed in this centre through health camps and health clinics”. She invited the population of the area to come up and share their difficulties and assured that government would address the issues. She congratulated Sara Pilot for providing the leadership and reaching out to the unreached community. She said that it gives her immense pleasure in meeting the people and getting their feedback on the development works happening in and around the city. |
